Do you ever just feel like not writing? These are the times when I probably shouldn't have a blog, but instead of pretending to be witty and cute today when we all know that just isnt going to happen, I will update you with my life over the past few weeks with pictures alone and let you make up your own story. And just to make things really interesting, I am going to throw in a few random pics that took place before I had a blog. Have fun!

New Apartment and Life Update

So after 2 weeks of being homeless (well, it turns out we have awesome friends here, so when I say homeless, I mean we slept on cots and couches in other peoples homes, but luckily we had a place to stay), Blake and I are finally in our new apartment! And we have wireless internet! This may not seem like such a big deal, but you know how annoying it is to call customer service? Try doing in with a language you barely speak. Those voice commands where you speak what your problem is? Yeah, super annoying when you just want to reach customer service and they cant understand you! Plus, I am still not sure what they signed me up for. Hopefully we will get ESPN though! Fingers crossed! (Or as they say here, Hold your thumbs!)

Anyways, to sum up my life in the past 2 weeks- Blake's sister Giselle and her friend Andrea came to visit us from Dresden, Germany over Easter weekend (an extended blog post will follow), the weather is finally starting to be nice here (around 50-60 and sunny most days), I joined a soccer team and scored 2 goals in my first game, and I played poker with some of Blake's friends and won! Blake said I was like playing against Kenneth on 30 Rock- a blank slate. Ha!

GLAD PÅSK

GLAD PÅSK means Happy Easter in Swedish. It is a much bigger holiday here, which I am not actually celebrating (except for making colored hard boiled eggs) because Blake's sister and friend are in town visiting (more on that later). But I just wanted to show everyone a Swedish Easter Tree.

I asked a few swedes why they do this, and of course, they had no idea that it is a religeous thing. In 30 seconds of google research I found out that "In Catholic countries Palm Sunday is a day of joyous processions of people carrying palm fronds and laying them before the image of Christ. In Swedens climate some other kind of branches had to take the place of palms; early budding varieties of willow were a common choice. Still today, such branches are brought into homes and offices so that they have developed leaves by Palm Sunday." All I had heard was they needed to look for tree branches in the forest and put feathers on it because that is what you do on Easter. So there you go, a little bit of learning on Easter Sunday!
